Roman Baths
The Roman Baths are one of the best-preserved ancient Roman spas in the world. In Roman times, high society travelled to the natural hot springs at the Temple of Aquae Sulis (“waters of Sulis”) so often to “take a bath” that the town finally became known as Bath. The bath complex was founded in 75AD and the healing powers of the mineral-rich waters from the springs attracted visitors from across the Roman Empire.
