Agra

Agra was the imperial capital of India before it shifted to Delhi, and its treasured remains bear witness to the legacy of its past emperors. The city is blessed with India's crown jewel, the white marble Taj Mahal, arguably one of the world’s most famous and breathtaking buildings. Visitors can also marvel at other fine Mughal architecture – the mighty Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.

Sikandra This is where the tomb of Akbar the Great (the third Mughal emperor) lies, and is an important architectural masterpiece that took 13 years to build.
Taj Mahal Considered the finest example of Mughal architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of his love for his wife.
Agra Fort Built mainly from red sandstone, this fort/palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is the most important for in India as many great Mughals lived and governed the country from here.
Fatehpur Sikri Much in the same condition as it was 300 years ago, this deserted red sandstone city was abandoned soon after it was built when the wells went dry.
