Jaipur

The palaces and forts of yesteryear that were witness to royal processions and splendor are now living monuments, accepted quite naturally into the lifestyles of the people of the "Pink City."

Jaipur

Jantar Mantar

This astronomical observatory consists of fourteen major geometric devices, mostly huge structures, designed to study the heavens.

City Palace

Occupying nearly one-seventh of the city, the City Palace was built using a mixture of both the Rajput and the Mughal styles of architecture.

Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds)

Built as part of the City Palace, its purpose was to allow the royal women to observe, through its hundreds of windows, the city without being seen.

Amber Fort

This fort/palace complex named after the town of Amber sits atop a hill and may be reached by foot or on elephants. The Sheesh Mahal, or Hall of Mirrors, is covered with thousands of tiny mirror tiles and is one of the fort s main sights.
