Kenting

Kenting is most famous for its Kenting National Park. Located on the southernmost tip of the country, it is the oldest national park in Taiwan and is famous for its beautiful beaches, scenic mountains, and lush vegetation.

Kenting National Park The Kenting National Park is a popular resort destination among locals. There are various activities such as surfing, scuba diving, and hiking. On the west side of the park, there are many reefs and coral sea cliffs. On the east side, one can find sand rivers and waterfalls, and sunken caves.
Oluanpi Lighthouse This lighthouse is one of the few in the world that is fortified. While it was being built, it suffered various attacks by local tribesmen so Chinese troops had to be sent in for protection. Once it was completed in 1883, the lighthouse was surrounded by a ditch and cannons.
