Day 1   |  Arrive-Beijing 

Arrive in Beijing and check in to our luxury hotel accommodations and spend the remainder of the day free at leisure. China s capital for many dynasties, Beijing is home to a wealth of cultural and historical treasures.

Day 2   |  Beijing  (AB, L, DP)

Explore Beijing s historic past on a city tour beginning at Tiananmen Square, the "Gate of Heavenly Peace." Walk across the massive square to the Forbidden City, built in the 15th century as a replica of the Purple Palace in Heaven, and then continue to visit the Summer Palace, taking in the beautiful landscape of elaborate bridges and pagodas. Stop for photos at the 2008 Olympic sites Bird s Nest and Water Cube, and in the evening enjoy a Peking duck dinner.

Day 3   |  Beijing  (AB, L, DH)

A long-standing symbol of the country s strength.the Great Wall snakes 4000 miles across China s northern borders. Enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk across its ancient steps and admire the sweeping views of serene steps and admire the sweeping views of serene mountains and valleys. Afterward we visit the Sacred Way.a"divine road"leading to the Ming Tomb Museum.

Day 4   |  Beijing-Xian  (AB, L, DH)

This morning we visit the temple of Heaven.Previously known as the Temple of Heaven and Earth,the park is rounded(symbolizing Heaven) in the north and square(symbolizing Earth)in the south. Take a short flight to the "Eternal City"of Xian,one of the four ancient capitals of the world.

Day 5   |  Xian  (AB, L, DS)

Today we visit one of China s ultimate treasures, the Terra-Cotta Warriors. Regarded as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, the 2200-year-old soldiers stand in fighting formation near the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Walk through the underground pits and admire the life-size funereal honor guard, then enjoy an authentic noodle-making demonstration at lunch. Continue to Xian s massive City Wall and the Wild Goose Pagoda. This evening we attend an exciting Tang Dynasty show after dinner.

Day 6   |  Xian-Guilin  (AB, L, D)

Taste some of Xian s local specialties at an Imperial Dumpling Banquet for lunch. Board a short flight to the picturesque city of Guilin and embark on a sightseeing tour, beginning with Reed Flute Cave. Walk through the grotto and admire the unique natural rock formations which create an otherworldly atmosphere. Later we visit Elephant Trunk Hill, a long-standing symbol of Guilin that once appeared on Chinese currency bills.

Day 7   |  Guilin-Yangshuo-Guilin  (AB, L, DH)

Cruise down the poetic Li River and admire the timeless landscapes of mist-shrouded mountains and rice paddies. Disembark at Yangshuo and stroll along the famed Xi Street, lined with traditional handicraft stores and cafes. In the afternoon we transit back to Guilin by motorcoach.

Day 8   |  Guilin-Chongqing-Yangtze River Cruise  (AB, L, D)

Fly to Chongqing, a cliff-side city that overlooks the confluence of the Chang and Jiliang Rivers. After a brief city tour we visit the Chongqing Zoo, home to the famous pandas. In the afternoon we drive to the docks and board the luxurious Victoria Cruise ship. Set sail in the evening for our majestic Yangtze River adventure.

Day 9   |  Yangtze River Cruise  (B, L, D)

Cruise along the Yangtze and witness the ways the Three Gorges Dam has changed the landscape. Dock in the town of Fengdu for our first shore excursion. Located on the northern bank of the Yangtze, this "Ghost City" is filled with demon and ghoul-decorated statues, which depict the ancient Chinese people s vision of hell .

Day 10   |  Yangtze River Cruise  (B, L, D)

Arrive at the spectacular Three Gorges. Admire the sheer scenic splendor as we sail through the Qutang Gorge, the shortest, narrowest, and most dramatic of the three. Sail through the 25-mile long Wu Gorge, renowned for its tranquil beauty, vertical cliffs and mountains. Disembark at Wushan and board a smaller vessel to access the dramatic Lesser Gorges. Reboard our ship and sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest and deepest, and in the evening pass through the intricate dam locks.

Day 11   |  Yangtze River Cruise-Yichang-Shanghai  (B, L)

Disembark at Sandouping Village and learn about the elaborate construction of the Three Gorges Dam. The largest hydroelectric project ever undertaken by man, the dam has forever changed the landscape of the Yangtze River valley. Reboard and sail on to Yichang, where we disembark and board a flight to cosmopolitan Shanghai.

Day 12   |  Shanghai  (AB, L, DS)

Formerly known as the "Paris of the Orient", Shanghai is China s largest economic center. sightseeing today takes us to the renowned classical garden, Yu Garden, followed by a walk along the famous Bund, a mile-long waterfront boulevard which affords dazzling panoramas of the city s skyline. Drive past Nanjing Road and this evening enjoy a Chinese Acrobatics Show.

Day 13   |  Shanghai  (AB, DP)

Today we visit the award-winning Shanghai museum, which boasts a staggering collection of ancient Chinese art and antiquities. Take some time to examine the priceless treasures and enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure. Later this evening we attend our farewell dinner banquet.

Day 14   |  Shanghai-Hong Kong  (AB)

Enjoy the day on our own until we transfer to the airport for a flight to Hong Kong, a diverse port city with rich heritage sites and dazzling cityscapes in its compact area.

Day 15   |  Hong Kong  (AB)

Our half-day sightseeing tour begins with a ride on the world s steepest funicular railway to the top of Victoria Peak. Enjoy the dramatic views of the skyline and harbor and then drive by Repulse Bay. Continue to visit the bustling Stanley Market and Aberdeen Floating community, where fishermen live aboard traditional junks. After lunch the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 16   |  Hong Kong -USA  (AB)

Transfer to the airport for our flight back home and bid a fond farewell to China & Hong Kong.
