An immense mausoleum of white marble, the extraordinary Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jehan as a tribute to his favorite wife. Completed around 1653, it took over 20 years and 20,000 workers to build. Admire this "poem in stone" and continue to Agra Fort, located near the gardens of the Taj Mahal.
