Board our transpacific flight to Bangkok, the starting point of our exotic Thailand journey.

Spend the day aboard our jetliner as we cross the International Date Line.

Day 3   |  Arrive-Bangkok 

Arrive in Thailand s capital city and meet our Ritz Tours guide in the arrivals hall. Transfer to our deluxe hotel to relax. Enjoy a 2 hours Thai Ancient Massage at Health Land Spa .

Day 4   |  Bangkok  (AB,L)

Today we explore Bangkok s rich heritage with a trip to the monumental Grand Palace, the former royal residence and the city s number-one destination. Walk through the Coronation Hall and reach the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Visually and architecturally impressive, the temple complex is the spiritual heart of Thai Buddhism and the Monarchy. Continue on to visit the Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho, the city s oldest temple before lunch. In the afternoon, we visit Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall (also called Marble Hall) which was built of imported white Carrara marble. We enjoy the " Art of the Kingdom" Exhibition of the Support Foundation with exotic and unique Thai arts created by local artisans under Royal Patronage of HM Queen Sirikit . End our day with a stop at a local gems and silk factory.

Day 5   |  Bangkok  (AB,L,DP)

Bangkok is a city of gleaming modernity firmly rooted in ancient Buddhist traditions and beliefs. Experience the local culture of this "City of Angels" with a trip to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Board a long-tail boat and glide through the labyrinth of canals or khlongs, past boats piled high with fresh produce and snacks. Enjoy our lunch at Sala Rimnum Restaurant of Mandarin Oriental Bangkok Hotel. Free at leisure after lunch until we board the " Chaophaya Princess" for dinner. While we indulge in our Thai-International Buffet, we enjoy the Live Music performance and spectacular view of historic places at the same time.

Day 6   |  Bangkok  (AB)

Enjoy the full-day exploring Bangkok on our own or take an optional excursion to the ancient city of Ayuthaya. Once known as the "Pearl of the East," Ayuthaya was the capital of Thailand from A.D. 1350 until its destruction four centuries later by Burmese invaders. Drive to the former royal capital and wander through the lingering ruins of monasteries and temples, which offer a glimpse into the past splendor of the dynasties. Continue to drive south of Ayuthaya to visit the exquisite Bang Pa In (Summer Palace).

Day 7   |  Bangkok-Chiang Mai  (AB,DS)

We board a morning flight to Chiang Mai (New City), Thailand s beloved northern capital. Set amidst a backdrop of beautiful mountain landscapes, this 700-year old city artfully combines its rich heritage with its increasingly modern side. Upon arrival we are transferred to our hotel. Welcome dinner with show is served at Le Grand Lanna (Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi) . Enjoy classic Thai and Northern Lanna style cuisine.

Day 8   |  Chiang Mai  (AB,L)

This morning we journey to the famed Doi Suthep Temple, which rests atop the auspicious Doi Suthep Mountain. Wander through the temple and admire some of Thailand s most precious Buddhist artifacts , then step outside to take in stunning panoramas of Chiang Mai below. Our lunch is served at Le Meridian Hotel . Free at leisure for the rest of the day . Tonight we head to Chiang Mai s colorful night bazaar and walk by shops and street vendors selling a huge variety of goods.

Day 9   |  Chiang Mai  (AB,L)

For centuries, elephants have been highly treasured and respected in Thai culture. This morning we head into Chiang Mai s tropical jungles to visit an elephant camp. Watch a show put on by the elephants and take an unforgettable elephant ride through the jungle past waterfalls, streams and mountains. After lunch , we return to Chiang Mai city and enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 10   |  Chiang Mai-Bangkok-USA  (AB)

Our Thailand adventure draws to a close as we board our homebound flight back to the US via Bangkok.
