Day 1   |  USA - Bangkok, Thailand 

Our grand Asia journey begins as we board the international flight bound to Thailand. Fly over the Pacific Ocean and cross the International Date Line.

Day 2   |  Arrive in Bangkok  (DH)

Arrive in Bangkok, the capital city of the Land of Smiles - Thailand. Check into our luxury hotel and spend the rest of the day free at leisure. Enjoy dinner at hotel this evening.

Day 3   |  Bangkok  (AB, L)

Our sightseeing of Bangkok begins with a visit to the Grand Palace, Bangkok’s must-see site and the former walled residence of the Thai monarch. Walk through the lavishly decorated buildings and courtyards, admiring the marvelous displays of Thai art and architecture. Stop by the Coronation Hall and arrive at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo), the most famous of Bangkok’s 400-odd temples. The temple houses the most respected religious object, a seated jade Buddha, which was lost and rediscovered in the 15th century. After lunch we visit the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall and stop by a Thai Gems Factory.

Day 4   |  Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok  (AB, L)

Take a full-day excursion to the ancient city and world heritage of Ayutthaya. We first arrive in Bang Pa In, visit the exquisite Summer Palace of King Rama V with its mixture of Thai, Chinese and Gothic architectures. Continue drive to Ayutthaya. Once known as the “Pearl of the East,” Ayutthaya was the capital of Thailand from A.D. 1350 until its destruction four centuries later by Burmese invaders. We wander through the lingering ruins of monasteries and temples, which offer a glimpse into the past splendor of the dynasties. We then transfer to the pier and start the Grand Pearl Cruise. Enjoy the fascinating scenery along the Chaophaya River, the River of the King, from Ayutthaya to Bangkok.

Day 5   |  Bangkok - Damnoen Saduak - Huahin  (AB, L, DH)

Experience the local culture of this “City of Angels” as we venture to the colorful Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Board a long-tail boat and glide through the labyrinth of canals, passing by vendors on wooden canoes piled high with fresh fruits and vegetables. After lunch we head to Huahin, a seaside town by the Gulf of Thailand famed for the intact beaches. Upon arrival we check in to the hotel and the remainder of the day is free at leisure to explore this little charming town on our own. Dinner is served at hotel tonight.

Day 6   |  Huahin  (AB, L)

Our half-day city tour starts with a visit to Huahin Train Station, one of the most beautiful train stations in Thailand. Next to visit the Palace of Love & Hope (Marukhathaiyawan Palace). Built in 1923 and used as a summer palace for King Rama VI of Thailand, the floor of the entire building of this summer palace was made of the precious red teak wood. Visitors are required to walk barefoot through the entire building. After lunch, we return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure. Or maybe you can take a walk on the immaculate beach.

Day 7   |  Huahin - Bangkok - Singapore  (AB)

Check out of hotel after breakfast and transfer to Bangkok airport to board a southbound flight to the “Lion City” of Singapore, where we meet our local guide and transfer to the hotel.

Day 8   |  Singapore  (AB, L)

A truly modern metropolis, Singapore is home to a great diversity of lifestyles, religions, and cultures. We begin our city tour at Merlion Park, passing by the national half-fish, half-lion symbol. Continue to visit Thian Hock Temple, or Temple of Heavenly Happiness, and then stop by a handicrafts center. Walk through the colorful streets of Little India, past a variety of shops and street vendors, and then enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure. Singapore is one of the best places on earth to sample a variety of Asian cuisines, and we can spend our free time exploring the city’s wealth of restaurants and street food.

Day 9   |  Singapore - Malacca, Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur  (AB, L, DH)

This morning we cross the border to Malaysia, an intoxicating country bordering Thailand and Singapore. Enjoy lunch in the historic port city of Malacca and take a city tour, exploring its rich cultural heritage and architecture. Begin at the Dutch-built Christ Church and then stop at the Melaka Ethnographical and Historical Museum at the Stadthuys Town Hall, followed by the Porta De Santiago, St. Francis Xavier Church and the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. After our full-day of sightseeing we board our motor coach to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital city.

Day 10   |  Kuala Lumpur  (AB, L)

Kuala Lumpur, or KL, has grown from humble beginnings as a tin-mining town to the sleek, modern metropolis that it is today. We begin our city exploration at King’s Palace, followed by a visit to the original city center at Merdeka Square, the National Mosque and the National Monument. Marvel at the 1482-foot high Petronas Twin Towers, which once held the title of the world’s tallest building. Continue to visit Batu Caves, a massive cave complex and the principle site of worship for Hindus. Complete our city tour with a visit to a Pewter Factory, KLCC Shopping Mall and a traditional Batik Demonstration.

Day 11   |  Kuala Lumpur - Hong Kong  (AB)

Transfer to the airport and catch a flight to Hong Kong, a place where the ultramodern collides with a rich colonial past. Upon arrival we spend the rest of the day free at leisure to explore this exhilarating place on our own

Day 12   |  Hong Kong  (AB)

Explore the dynamic island of Hong Kong on a city tour beginning at Victoria Peak. Board a tram ride on the world’s steepest funicular railway to the top of the Peak and enjoy the full expanse of Hong Kong’s dazzling skyline. Continue to visit the open-air Stanley Market, Repulse Bay and Aberdeen Fishing Village. After our sightseeing we enjoy the rest of the day free to explore the city, perhaps sampling some of Hong Kong’s famous street food or doing some last-minute shopping.

Day 13   |  Hong Kong - USA  (AB)

Our voyage through Asia comes to an end as we board our international flight back to the US, arriving home later the same day.
