Day 1   |  USA – Delhi, India 

Prepare to be inspired by the ancient intrigue and natural wonders of India. Today you board your international flight bound for the capital city of Delhi.

Day 2   |  Arrive in Delhi 

Fly into the extraordinary Indian capital of Delhi, a city overflowing with a wealth of influences: ancient, colonial and modern. Upon your arrival, meet your expert guide who will see you through the customary Indian welcome, the red tikka powder mark upon your forehead. Transfer to your hotel with the remainder of your day free at leisure.

Day 3   |  Delhi  (B ,L ,D )

Today you’re off to explore the two sides of Delhi, Old and New. Begin the tour of Old City to discover its charms. A cycle-rickshaw takes you to India’s largest mosque, Jama Masjid. After the visit to Jama Masjid, drive past the prominent Red Fort. Old Delhi is also home to the Raj Ghat, the memorial site and last resting place of Mahatma Gandhi who was cremated here on January 31, 1950 following his assassination the day before. Later continue to the southern side of town, explore the colonial influenced New Delhi. Established in 1920 by the British, New Delhi has since stood as the seat of Indian politics. A motor tour takes you past several important landmarks: India Gate, the Presidential Palace, the Parliament House and the eclectic architecture of the Secretariat Buildings. You’ll also visit the Mughal styled Mausoleum of Humayun and the towering Qutub Minar.

Day 4   |  DelhiJaipur  (B ,L ,DH )

Travel to the majestic city of Jaipur. Know as the “Pink City,” legend has it that Jaipur was painted pink on the orders of Sawai Ram Singh to impress the English Royalty. Today, many streets and buildings are still painted pink to preserve this lovely tradition. Arrive at your accommodations and enjoy the remainder of your day free at leisure. Unwind at the hotel or explore the city at your own pace and interest.

Day 5   |  Jaipur  (B ,L )

Situated atop a prized vantage point, Amer Fort stands guard over the Rajasthani region below it. You’ll take to the hillside route aboard a majestic elephant or a rugged Jeep. Upon reaching the Fort, you’ll discover why it is commonly referred to as the “Amer Palace,” because of the stronghold’s remarkable beauty and luxurious environs. Enjoy the striking views before taking advantage of a photo opportunity at the Palace of Winds, Hawa Mahal. This intricately decorated palace was built in honor of the Hindu god, Krishna, and has historically served as a covered sightseeing terrace for the modest ladies of the court. After pausing for lunch, continue your tour with a visit to the sprawling multiplex of the City Palace. Home to numerous temples, palaces, courtyards and halls, the City Palace continues to function as a royal residence. The Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum functions as an integral part of the City Palace architecture as well as the host for its precious collection of art and artifacts. Next, walk to the exquisitely well-preserved Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory before being treated to a turban and sari tying demonstration.

Day 6   |  JaipurFatehpur SikriAgra  (B ,L ,DH )

Departing Jaipur, you’ll travel east to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Fatehpur Sikri. This short-lived 16th century capital of the Mughal Empire served as the imperial palace for less than two decades before drought and regional strife led to its abandonment. Today’s Fatehpur Sikri stands as a hauntingly beautiful ghost town, showing off the masterfully built monuments and buildings of this exceptional complex. Continue your tour eastbound to the city of Agra. After checking in to your accommodations, you’ll set out on a tonga ride (horse-drawn carriage) for the crown jewel of your adventure, the incomparable Taj Mahal. Admired the world over for its transcendent beauty and legendary history, the Taj Mahal has captured the imaginations of all who’ve stood before it. Afforded ample time to explore the Taj, you’ll marvel at the incredible breath and precision of this architectural icon, taking in the inscription of Emperor Shah Jahan, that the Taj Mahal was built “to display thereby the creator's glory.”

Day 7   |  AgraDelhi  (B ,DH )

A 16th century Mughal stronghold, Agra Fort stands guard over the region with its impressive 1.5-mile long wall. Under the Fort’s gallant protection a number of treasured structures are found, including royal palaces, audience halls and sacred mosques. You’ll tour this legendary fortress, admiring its history and beauty. Then board your return drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival, the remains of your afternoon are free at leisure. Relax in your accommodations or trek into the city for some last minute shopping and sightseeing.

Day 8   |  Delhi – USA  (B )

Revel in the memories of your journey through India’s Golden Triangle as you are transferred to the airport to board your return flight to the USA.
