Day 1   |  USA – Bangkok, Thailand 

Board your flight to Thailand. This unique kingdom awaits you with natural splendor,cheerful hospitality and rich spiritual traditions.

Day 2   |  Arrive in Bangkok  (DH)

Meet your local guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day free to relax or get acquainted with this vibrant metropolis. Tonight, enjoy a fabulous Welcome Thai Premier Set Dinner at the Bencharong Restaurant at your hotel, the Dusit Thani. Take your seat for an array of mouth-watering modern Thai dishes that serve as the perfect welcome to your trip.

Day 3   |  Bangkok  (B, L)

Straddling the Chaophaya River, Bangkok has been Thailand’s capital since the 18th century and is famed for its floating markets, magical palaces, soaring high-rises and evocative Buddhist temples. Today, lift the lid on this pulsating city on a fascinating sightseeing tour. View the Grand Palace, with its lavish Coronation Hall, Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, and visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, home to a 26-inch Buddha statue carved from a single piece of jade. Also, admire some of Thailand’s prized precious stones at a gems gallery.

Day 4   |  Bangkok  (B, L)

Start early this morning to experience the wonderful Damnoen Saduak floating market, one of Bangkok’s must-see sights. Board a long-tail boat and weave along the city’s canals past market boats piled with fresh produce and foods – don’t forget your camera! Afterwards, head for Bangkok’s Mandarin Oriental hotel for a very special lunch buffet at its Sal Rim Naam restaurant, acclaimed for its traditional Thai dishes and seasonal specialties. Following this memorable occasion, spend the rest of the day at leisure, perhaps shopping for souvenirs, sightseeing or relaxing at your hotel.

Day 5   |  Bangkok – Ayutthaya – Bangkok  (B, L)

Enjoy a full-day visit to Ayutthaya, the ruined Siam capital, north of Bangkok. Athriving kingdom from 1350 until 1767, the city’s incredible relics incorporate semicrumbled intact temples, Buddha statues and monasteries. En route, pay a visit to the ornate Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, a stunning complex complete with tiered-roof floating pavilion. End your day with a cruise along the Chaophaya River back to Bangkok, sailing on a Grand Pearl liner. Watch spellbound as your vessel passes emerald green jungle and timeless villages along the riverbanks, and enjoy a delicious lunch buffet on board.

Day 6   |  Bangkok  (B)

Enjoy the whole of today at your leisure. Perhaps explore Bangkok independently, unwind at your hotel, shop for souvenirs in the city's bustling streets and markets, or sample some of the many tempting restaurants or food stalls — your time is completely your own

Day 7   |  Bangkok – Chiang Rai  (B, DH)

Transfer to the airport and fly to Chiang Rai. When you arrive, transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. Relax over a welcome dinner at your hotel this evening.

Day 8   |  Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai  (B, L, D)

Today, discover the beauty of Chiang Rai,an enchanting region of rolling hills, mistwreathed mountains and fertile rice fields. Travel to Chiang Saen, the old capital of the Lanna Kingdom. Here, visit the fabked Golden Triangle, where the Mekong River joins the borders of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and call at a border town before returning to your hotel and then leaving for Chiang Mai, driving through beautiful hills, green valleys and sleepy villages.

Day 9   |  Chiang Mai  (B, L, DS)

After breakfast, pay a visit to the Elephant Camp to see how these majestic animals are trained to haul lumber. Ride an elephant through the forest and across streams, and then climb on to a rustic ox cart for a trip past farms and paddy fields. Next, board a bamboo raft to ride the waters of the Mae Tang River. After lunch at a local restaurant, meet Thailand’s northern Palong, Padong and Karen tribes. Admire and learn about their traditional handicrafts and even try on the traditional neck rings worn by the ‘long-necked’ Karen. Tonight, enjoy a Khantoke dinner and authentic tribal show.

Day 10   |  Chiang Mai  (B, L, DH)

Today, visit the Buddhist temple of Wat Doi Suthep, one of Chiang Mai’s most iconic symbols. Sitting at the summit of Doi Suthep Mountain, this splendid building dates back to the 14th century and boasts a sacred Buddhist relic as well as panoramic views. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure before a farewell dinner with your fellow travelers tonight.

Day 11   |  Chiang Mai – Bangkok  (B)

Check out of your hotel today and transfer to Chiang Mai airport for your flight to Bangkok. Check in at your Bangkok hotel and spend the remainder of the day as you please, perhaps enjoying your hotel or some last sightseeing.

Day 12   |  Bangkok – USA  (B)

Your Thailand journey comes to an end. You are transferred to the airport to board your return flight back to the USA.
