Day 1   |  USA – Beijing, China 

Board your flight to Beijing and you prepare to discover the mysteries and wonders of China’s Tibetan Highlands and the Yangtze River.

Day 2   |  Arrive in Beijing 

Arrive in Beijing. Meet your guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax or start exploring China’s exciting and historic capital.

Day 3   |  Beijing  (AB, L, DH)

Beijing enthralls and intrigues with its towering high-rises,bicycle-filled streets,Mao-commissioned public buildings and imperial palaces.Witness the vast public space of Tiananmen Square and visit the extravagant,walled Forbidden City,the 8,000-room ensemble of palaces and chambers that was home to 25emperors for over 500 years.Other highligts include time at the Summer Palace,Whose glorious gardens and pools offered imperial families a cool summer retreat from the heat of Beijing.Lastly,enjoy photo stops at Beijing's iconic 2008 Olympic Bird's Nest stadium and Water Cube Aquatices Centre.Tonight,enjoy your dinner at hotel.

Day 4   |  Beijing  (AB, L)

Today, visit the Great Wall of China, probably the world’s greatest man-made wonder. Built over 2,600 years ago, this 5,500- mile wall traces China’s northern borders and never fails to impress. Walk along the ramparts and take in the spectacular views before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. Then, visit the Sacred Way, thought to have been the route taken to heaven by China’s dead emperors. Admire the elaborate marble statues of animals and humans that line the path, known as the ‘Divine Way’.

Day 5   |  Beijing – Xian  (AB, DH)

This morning, head for the extraordinary Temple of Heaven, a large religious complex of temples, pavilions and halls where China’s emperors would make sacrifices for fruitful harvests. Next, take your short flight to Xian, dubbed the ‘Eternal City’ and renowned as a cradle of Chinese civilization.

Day 6   |  Xian  (AB, L, DS)

China’s ancient former capital, Xian is located at the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and best known for the Terracotta Warriors. Made up of 6,000 life-size statues of soldiers and horses, this ancient army is a spectacular sight. Next, visit Xian’s City Wall and towering Big Wild Goose Pagoda. This evening, enjoy a delicious Imperial Dumpling Banquet before a Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 7   |  Xian – Lhasa  (AB, DH)

Today, fly to magical Lhasa or ‘Holy City’, Tibet’s remote capital. Sitting 13,000 feet above sea level, this mountain-ringed city is a compelling mix of narrow backstreets, temples and monasteries. Check in at your hotel for your three-night stay and take the rest of the day to relax and acclimatize.

Day 8   |  Lhasa  (AB, D)

Today is devoted to this incredibly spiritual city, whose jewel is the extraordinary Potala Palace. Dominating the slopes of Red Mountain, this vast 1,300-year-old building was the home of the Dalai Lama and is an architectural treasure. Next, visit bustling Barkhor Street and the pilgrims’ mecca of Jokhang Monastery, Tibet’s ‘House of the Lord’.

Day 9   |  Lhasa  (AB, L, D)

This morning, head for beautiful Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s holy lakes, for a delightful picnic lunch. Enjoy your picnic as you admire the epic mountainscapes and turquoise waters around you. Back in Lhasa, enjoy the balance of the day at your leisure.

Day 10   |  Lhasa – ChongqingYangtze River Cruise  (AB, D)

Today, fly to Chongqing to embark your Yangtze cruise ship for your three-night cruise. Before arriving at the river, see the giant pandas of Chongqing Zoo and snap photos of the People’s Grand Hall. Then, board your Victoria Cruises ship, the comfortable Victoria Jenna, and settle into your Executive superior cabin.

Day 11   |  Yangtze River Cruise  (B, L, D)

After breakfast, visit the 12-storey wooden temple of Shibaozhai, whose name translates as ‘Stone Treasure Fortress’, and which stands on the northern banks of the river. Visit this 18th-century architectural marvel, which is believed to have been built without nails, and admire the artworks on its 12 floors, each dedicated to a famous general, scholar or poet. An alternative excursion to Fengdu may be arranged to replace the visit to Shibaozhai.

Day 12   |  Yangtze River Cruise  (B, L, D)

Wonder at the beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges today as you cruise the incredibly narrow Qutang Gorge and 25-mile Wu Gorge, through wooded mountains. During your cruise, transfer to a small boat to sail along the exquisite Small Gorges of Daning River or Shennong Stream, whose emerald waters are lined by cave-dotted cliffs.Return to your ship to sail Xiling Gorge and view the Three Gorges Dam locks.

Day 13   |  Yangtze River Cruise – YichangShanghai  (B)

Today, marvel at the remarkable Three Gorges Dam, the world’s biggest hydroelectric project. As you take in the scale of this mammoth edifice, learn how it was constructed and how it has transformed the surrounding landscapes. Later, leave your ship at Yichang, where you enjoy a brief city tour before flying to the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, Shanghai.

Day 14   |  Shanghai  (AB, DS)

China’s economic and commercial powerhouse, Shanghai mixes gleaming glass towers with medieval teahouses and elegant European architecture. Check out its highlights today, with a visit to the Bund waterfront, City God Temple Bazaar and teeming shopping neighborhood of the Nanjing Road. Tonight, enjoy dinner and an exciting Chinese Acrobatics Show.

Day 15   |  Shanghai  (AB, DP)

Enjoy a whole day free today, giving you ample time to explore this fast-moving metropolis. Or you may wish to join our optional excursion to Suzhou, situated at the centre of the Yangtze River delta on the banks of Taihu Lake. Explore the lovely old quarter, with a visit to the UNESCO-listed Master of Nets Garden, and enjoy a cruise along the scenic Grand Canal. This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner Party.
