Oxford
Oxford University is the oldest university in the English-speaking world and a truly unique and historic institution. Although there is no clear date of foundation, teaching has existed at Oxford in some form in 1096 and developed from 1167, when Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris. Today Oxford remains at the forefront of centers of learning, teaching and research, with students from more than 140 countries.
Bodleian Library
One of the oldest libraries in Europe, this is Oxford University s main research library. The reading room named the Radcliffe Camera is well worth a visit for its interesting round structure.
