Abu Simbel

Located in Upper Egypt and known for its monuments, Abu Simbel is a small settlement with little to offer visitors other than the famous Abu Simbel Temples, part of the Nubian Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Abu Simbel Temples Originally carved out of a mountainside, this complex had to be moved in the 1960 s due to the rising waters behind Lake Nasser due to the construction of the Aswan Dam. The twin temples are a dedication to Pharaoh Ramses II.
