River Kwai

The city of Kanchanaburi is known mainly for its bridge over River Kwai, made famous by the 1957 war movie “The Bridge on the River Kwai”. However, Thais known this area as one of the most beautiful provinces with access to many waterfalls and national parks.

Tiger Temple

There are many tigers lounging in this area, overseen by caretakers and a monk. You may see the tigers from a distance but if you choose to take a picture up close, bear in mind that there has been cases of mauling.

Bridge on the River Kwai

Built by POWs working for the Japanese during the second World War, this is part of the infamous Death Railway to Burma so named for the thousands who died during its construction.

JEATH Museum

The museum was named for the main nationalities involved in the construction of the Death Railway: Japanese, English, Australian, Thai, and Dutch and is one of two war museums about the railway construction.

War Museum

This museum is mostly devoted to pre World War 2 Thai history and is filled with murals of past kings.

Kra Sae Cave

The Death Railway passes by this cave, which lies in a very scenic area. Inside the cave, one can find an image of Lord Buddha.
