 Day 1  |   USA-Frankfurt       Top
Our Eastern Europe vacation begins as we board our trans-Atlantic flight for Frankfurt, Germany.

 Day 2  |   Arrive-Frankfurt       Top
Our jetliner touches down in Frankfurt, an important financial center of Germany. Upon entering the city, we begin a brief orientation tour, then transfer to the hotel where the rest of the day is taken at leisure. An optional Rhine River cruise including dinner is available this evening.

Day 3  |   Frankfurt -Wurzburg -Prague      B,D Top
We head by motorcoach to Wurzburg, the starting point of Romantis Road and an ancient city of Bavaria by the River Main. Our city orientation tour features views of the Dom, Alte Mainbruck, Rathaus, and the brilliant Residenz. Cross the boarder into the Czech Republic to arrive at its capital city of Prague.

 Day 4  |   Prague      B Top
The communist nation formerly known as Czechoslovakia became the Czech Republic in 1989 via a peaceful revolution. Its capital (and largest) city Prague has been its political, cultural, and economic center for the past 1100 years. Widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe, our sightseeing tour of Prague provides a glimpse into its rich history. Our fi rst stop of the “Golden City” Prague tour takes us to Prague Castle, the largest ancient castle in the world. The tour also features visits to the ancient St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Town Square, the romantic Charles Bridge over the Vltava River, Astronomical Clock, and views of the Jewish Quarter. Some free time will be provided for leisure activities.

 Day 5  |   Prague -Vienna      B,D Top
Our motorcoach departs after breakfast this morning and heads south across the border into Austria. The Alps cover more than half of Austria, making the mountainous country famous for its winter skiing. We arrive at Vienna, the largest city and also the capital of the Republic of Austria. A half day city tour takes us to Schonbrun Palace, and a panoramic drive will show us some famous landmarks such as the Vienna Opera House, Ringstrasse, City Hall, the Parliament Building, and the Hofburg. Some free time will be allotted for shopping or viewing of St. Stephen’s Church. In the evening we may choose to participate in an optional activity - Mozart’s Concert.

 Day 6  |   Vienna -Budapest      B,D Top
A leisurely drive this morning takes our group through the countryside to the Hungarian border. Before driving into the city center of Budapest, the capital of Hungary, we fi rst enjoy a panoramic view across the Danube from the hill top. The Danube River is the longest river in the EU, flowing some 1771 miles from the Black Forest (Germany) eastwards into the Black Sea. The “On the Beautiful Blue Danube” was composed by the famous composer Johann Strauss as he traveled down the river. We then head into the city to take a cruise on the Danube River to the Pest district to visit Heroes’ Square. Enjoy a traditional Hungarian dinner with music tonight.

 Day 7  |   Budapest      B Top
With a population of 1.7 million, Budapest is the largest city of Hungary and also serves as its capital. Another of Europe’s most magnificent cities, it is home to World Heritage Sites such as the banks of the Danube and Buda Castle. In addition to these attractions, our city tour also includes visits to the Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion, and views of the Parliament, Royal Palace of Buda. The afternoon is free for leisure activities as no sightseeing has been planned. Use the time to explore this wondrous city at your own pace.

 Day 8  |   Budapest -Plitvice      B,DH Top
We depart this morning after breakfast for Zagreb, the largest and capital city of Croatia. After passing the charming countryside area, we cross the Croatian border to arrive at Zagreb, where we take a city orientation tour: the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Ban Josip Jelacic Square, Presidential Palace, Stone Gate, and St. Mark’s Church. Photo stops will be arranged where possible. We overnight at either Zagreb or Plitvice and enjoy our dinner at hotel tonight.

 Day 9  |   Plitvice -Bled      B,DH Top
The Plitvice 16 Lakes National Park, Croatia’s most popular tourist attraction, was granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979. The 16 lakes are interconnected by a series of waterfalls and set in deep woodlands populated by deer, bears, wolves, boars, and rare bird species. In the park, there are numerous trails on which to walk and hike, and there are also boats from which a different perspective of the park can be seen. Tonight, our group overnights in Bled.

Day 10  |   Bled -Ljubljana -Salzburg      B,L Top
The highlight of today’s sightseeing tour is a morning visit to the world famous Postojna Cave, the largest classic karst cave and the most visited show cave in Europe. After lunch, we proceed to Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. Here our orientation tour takes us to the medieval castle for splendid scenic views. In Old Town Center, we see the City Hall, Robba Fountain, the Main Square, the Triple Bridge and the Cathedral of St. Nicholas. Time permitting, we may stop in the Central Market and also visit Ljubljana Castle or Castle Hill. We reboard the bus as it takes us into Salzburg, the famed birthplace of Mozart.

 Day 11  |   Salzburg -Munich      B,D Top
Our morning tour of Salzburg begins with a visit to the Mirabell Garden after which we cross the Salzach River to enter the Old Town. Some free time will be given for us to explore the town on our own. An optional “Sound of Music” tour to St. Gilgen and Lake Wolfgang is available. Later in the day, our motorcoach continues on to Munich where for dinner we venture a taste of famous local fare - German Pig Knuckles.
