Climate
The coastal region sees a Mediterranean climate. Inland, Slovenia experiences a continental climate with cold winters and mild summers.
Language
The official language of Slovenia is Slovene. There are Italian, Hungarian, and German speaking minority populations here and many younger people will speak English as it is taught in the schools.

Money
As part of the Eurozone, Slovenia uses the Euro. The exchange rate as of July 2010 is 0.77 euros to US$1.
Credit cards are widely accepted by shops and hotels and there are ATMs throughout the major cities.
Although Slovenians do not tip, a tip of the standard 10% is expected of foreigners.
