Today we visit the ancient capital of Amber and tour the magnificent Amber Fort, which rests atop the rugged hills outside of Jaipur. An elephant (or alternatively, a Jeep) will spare us the trek up the hillside to the top of the fortress. Stroll through the sprawling complex, then stop at the Palace of the Winds. Return to Jaipur for a city tour to exquisite City Palace and Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory created by the Maharaja of Jaipur in 1726.

A ride on Tonga s "horse carriages" takes us to the gates of the Taj Majal, once referred to as a "poem in stone." One of the world s most famous buildings, this extravagant monument was built in 1631 as a testament to undying love. It was commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Janan in memory of his second wife and took over 22 years and 20,000 people to complete. After admiring the grandeur of the Taj Mahal, we visit Agra Fort, one of the most breathtaking Mughal forts in India.
